Bad News II

The amount of newspaper coverage of the so-called honour killings, such as ‘17.000 women are victims every year’, or ‘Brother killed his sister to save the family name’, etc., were overlaid one onto another and published in the main Slovenian daily newspaper DELO, as a special insert, during the course of four weeks.

The series of four inserts was published weekly, each time adding another layer of similar news of homicide cases – becoming more and more dense and less and less legible. In the final newspaper insert, the specially published insert, creates a solid, black rectangle, symbolising the sombreness of this topic. The Bad News Project Il was organised by curators Alenka Gregoric and Bozidar Zrinski.

The intervention was a part of 28th Ljubljana International Biennial of Graphic Art, Curators Alenka Gregoric and Bozidar ZrinskiLjubljana, Slovenia.

This project is part of number of projects under name Daily News Agency.
